Automotive 12V/24V Universal DC Motor Test Tool Instruction Manual
This Car EPB Caliper Motor Release Tool No Computer Needed Universal 12V Electronic Parking Brake Reset Emergency Service Repair Tool
I. Product Overview
This product is a portable DC motor test tool that supports both 12V and 24V dual voltages. It allows for one-button control of motor forward and reverse rotation without a computer. It is specifically designed for testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of DC motors in automobiles, trucks, and other applications such as windows, wipers, blowers, and tailgates. It is easy to operate, safe, and stable, and compatible with the vast majority of vehicle models.
II. Product Structure Diagram
| Item No. | Component Name | Function Description |
|---|---|---|
| ① | Power Clip (Positive/Negative) | Connects to battery power. Red is positive, black is negative. Reverse connection protection design. |
| ② | Motor Brake/Release Control Switch | Bidirectional control. Flipping up/down reverses the motor. Power off in the middle position stops the motor. |
| ③ | Terminal Interface | Connection port between the control unit and the test terminal lines. |
| ④ | Universal Terminal Interface | Adapts to various motor plugs. Can be directly connected to motor pins. |
III. Product Application
Used for power-on testing, fault diagnosis, emergency return, and maintenance of various 12V/24V DC motors in automobiles, trucks, windows, wipers, blowers, tailgates, lift pumps, etc. No computer required; one-button control for forward and reverse rotation.
IV. Product Composition
- Control Unit (with bidirectional control switch): 1 unit
- Battery Clip Cable Set (including red/black alligator clips): 1 set
- Multi-specification Test Terminal Cable Set: 1 set
V. Scope of Application
- 12V Vehicles: Passenger car window lift, wiper, and blower motor testing and return
- 24V Vehicles: Truck and bus wiper, window, tailgate, and lift pump DC motor power-on testing
- Other: 12V/24V DC motor basic power-on testing and forward/reverse control
VI. Operating Procedures
- Preparation: Turn off the vehicle and disconnect the power. Unplug the motor to be tested from the vehicle control module. Ensure the testing environment is safe and free of flammable and explosive materials.
- Power Supply Connection
- 12V Motor: Connect the red alligator clip to the positive (+) terminal of the 12V battery, and the black alligator clip to the negative (-) terminal.
- 24V Motor: Connect the red alligator clip to the positive (+) terminal of the 24V battery pack, and the black alligator clip to the negative (-) terminal. Ensure the connections are secure, without looseness or short circuit risk. The control switch must be in the neutral (off) position.
- Terminal Connection
Select the appropriate test terminals according to the motor plug specifications and connect them to the corresponding motor pins. If no dedicated plug is available, directly connect the positive and negative pins of the motor using terminal wires. - Motor Testing Operation
- Forward Operation: Move the two-way switch to the “↑” position. The motor will perform forward operation; observe the running status.
- Reverse Operation: Move the two-way switch to the “↓” position. The motor will perform reverse operation; observe the running status.
- Stop: Release the switch or move it back to the neutral position. The motor will immediately stop with power cut off. To change direction, first turn off the switch, then operate in the opposite direction to avoid current surges.
- Final Steps
After testing, first return the control switch to the middle position, then disconnect the test terminal wires and battery clamps in sequence, and reconnect the motor plug to the vehicle. Organize the wiring and store the tool in a dry, cool place.
VII. Safety Precautions
- Never reverse the battery terminals. Reversing the connection may damage the motor or burn out the tool.
- Continuous power-on testing should not exceed 30 seconds. For 24V motors, it is recommended to shorten the test to within 15 seconds to prevent overheating and damage to the motor or tool. If prolonged testing is required, allow the tool to cool down before proceeding.
- This tool supports 12V/24V DC power. Do not connect to a power source exceeding 24V, as this will cause irreversible damage.
- Slight sparks may be generated when powered on. Do not use in gas stations or areas with oil/gas leaks.
- When testing motors with moving parts (such as windows, wipers, and tailgates), avoid injury from being pinched. Ensure there are no people or objects obstructing the flow before turning on the power.
