CG-MLB FAQs
Q: What does this device need to work with? Does it require specific keys?
A: It supports original factory keys or aftermarket keys using the original factory protocol. CG will also release CGDI sub-devices/transponder keys.
Q: Does CG-MLB support sub-devices/transponder keys from other manufacturers?
A: It supports keys from other manufacturers that use the original factory protocol. Non-original protocol keys are not supported.
Q: Is it only for key addition? Does it require soldering to read the original car key?
A: Yes, it is for key addition only. Without a non-disassembly adapter, soldering wires is required. With the adapter, simply remove the key PCB and place it on the adapter.
Q: Can CG-MLB independently complete key data reading and programming?
A: Server calculation is required, so an internet connection is necessary.
Q: Are there any prerequisites for reading data, such as points, dedicated sub-devices, etc.?
A: One free calculation per day is included. CG key points can also be used for free calculations.
Q: Is there an annual fee?
A: No annual fee.
Q: Can this connect to a laptop?
A: Yes, it can connect to a computer or work together with K2.
Q: What vehicle models and key types are supported?
A: An original vehicle key is required, and it must be able to perform emergency start (even if the remote or smart functions are damaged).
Q: If the owner does not have an original factory key, but only has a previously added CG key that can start the car normally, can MQB48 key addition be done directly by reading the CG key data?
