This is the latest product for the purpose of on-site faulty diagnosis of common rail diesel engines. It can be used to measure and record the transient data of rail pressure and control valve current during engine starting period to help trouble shooting common rail fuel system quickly and effectively.
When RA-3000 is connected to a rail pressure sensor, it provides +5V power supply to the sensor to replace the original +5V by the engine ECU.At the same time, it measures the engine ECU +5V power supply.Therefore the faults from the sensor and the faults caused by the ECU +5V power supply have been separated effectively. RA-3000 is able to test rail pressure sensors with various scales by Bosch, Delphi, Denso and Cummins.
RA-3000 measures high-pressure pump control solenoid current by the internal build-in current sensor, which converts the current of PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) signal to voltage. The engine ECU current output, the RA-3000 current input port and the pump control solenoid are connected in a daisy chain format in order to conduct the current measurement. RA-3000 is able to test all pump control solenoid current, as long as the signals are PWM format.
The instrument has two test modes:
1. Text mode, which tests and updates display of the results continuously in real time for rail pressure, ECU +5V power voltage, and high-pressure pump control valve current.
2. Transient curves mode, which measures and records transient rail pressure and pump control valve current for a period of 10 seconds. Then display curves to represent recorded rail pressure and control valve current data. And also display the maximum values for both curves.
The diesel engine common rail fuel system problem can be detected quickly by using RA-3000 with transient curve mode on the site of faulty vehicles. The problems of rail pressure sensor and ECU +5V related can be detected easily by RA-3000 with “TEXT’ mode. The fuel system faults related to engine difficult to start can be detected faster and more effectively by RA-3000 with “CURVE” mode.
